Ten Tips to Remove Crawl Space Odors

You can smell it. You’ve got moisture in your basement or crawl space and now there is the smell of mold, too. How do you make the mold and odor go away, and how do you stop the mold or mildew from coming back?
Here are some tips on preparing the area and what products to use or not use to get rid of your mold, including the smell, and how to keep it away.

Preparing you and the area to get rid of basement and crawl space odors:

  • Wear a respirator 
  • Wear old clothes (that you don’t mind throwing away) or a tyvek suit when cleaning or moving anything in a moldy, mildewy, crawl space 
  • Stop the water/moisture
  • Remove damaged/wet/moldy articles
